WOTSO WHIP | April 2020 Edition

“Show me someone who has done something worthwhile, and I’ll show you
someone who has overcome adversity.”
– Lou Holtz

COVID19 – WE ARE HERE TO HELP!

As we enter our second month of adapting to our new COVID19 lifestyle, there is no doubt many of us have had to face challenges in both a work and life setting that we never expected. Whilst it is not always easy to face such challenges it is important to remain positive and remember that we are all in this together!

How can we help you?
At WOTSO we are committed to supporting all businesses navigate their way through the COVID-19 crisis so they can emerge stronger then ever and ready to thrive!

For this reason all are sites remain open and we have put in protocols to ensure we are adhering to all government policies to look after the safety and wellbeing of all our members. We have also adjusted our policies to allow for maximum flexibility to help our members make the right decision about their work life.

If you or your team are struggling to work from home, or need to be in an office but still want to be close to home, we are able to provide isolated space to ensure everyone remains productive in a safe environment.

Or, if you are stuck at home and need anything done for you, with our virtual office packages, our team can act as your personal EA during this time.

And remember, WOTSO is a provider of flexible space, it does not have to be office space. If you can see a way that we can adapt our space to assist you or your team at this time we invite you to get in touch and tell us what your needs are.

Let’s help each other!
The COVID19 App can be downloaded via the Apple App Store or the Google Play store.
We think it is going to to help us all get back to a normal way of working sooner rather than later, which to us means working from a WOTSO.

OUR TOP TIPS FOR SURVIVING COVID19

1. Don’t panic, take care of yourself, and keep calm
We understand this can be difficult especially with so much uncertainty, but remember to take care of yourself in a way that works for you- for instance, eat well, and try to get some exercise in. Taking care of yourself will help you to keep calm, which in turn will also mean keeping you and your team calm, and ultimately lead to a healthier mindset for all.

2. Tap into resources provided by Government and Financial institutions
Both the Federal and State Governments, as well as many financial institutions have put together a number of initiatives to support small business owners. Taking advantage of such initiatives can greatly help your business through this time. See the latest Federal Government policies here.

3. Look for opportunities
It’s never nice to capitalize on events such as this, but they can also be a wake-up call to reconsider how you have been doing business. In this case, is your business model able to survive the changes that will come from the COVID-19 pandemic? How do you expect your customers to behave moving forward?

In 2009, at the peak of the recession, Netflix gained 3 million members. This was due to their new tv/movie streaming plan, which allowed subscribers to stream an unlimited amount of entertainment a month, along with their disc-delivery service.

By adding a variety of price plans and different services, Netflix became notable for what they did, their customer service, and eventually brand recognition. As of today, Netflix continues to grow with over 36 million subscribers.

Similarly, Uber, now one of the best known brands in the world was founded during 2009 recession by Travis Kalanick and Garrett Camp.

Businesses such as Netflix and Uber serve as great examples of the opportunity that can present themselves during such challenging times. There is now no better time to get creative and potentially reshape your strategy.
