WOTSO and BubbaDesk have agreed to expand their growing partnership and open a second space at WOTSO Dickson in Canberra following the success of their first joint venture at Neutral Bay.
Lauren Perrett, Founder of BubbaDesk, says the partnership is a natural fit. “Neutral Bay is going really well,” said Lauren. “It was our pilot project with WOTSO and a positive early indicator that it’s a great partnership and one we want to continue to grow. “The goal for Dickson is to replicate what we’ve done at Neutral Bay. We’ll be rolling out the same playbook.
“We’re really good at executing the ancillary childcare playbook and WOTSO is great at running flexible workspaces.” BubbaDesk at WOTSO Dickson will be a similar size to Neutral Bay, around 160 sqm, keeping the space intimate and ideal for BubbaDesk’s ratio for child to carer of 4:1. “We like to have smaller groups,” Lauren says.
“It makes for a more intimate setting from a childcare point of view, and it just means it’s not overly busy or intimidating for parents and their children when first moving to out of home care – which can be a very anxious time for both children and parents.”
Jessie Glew, CEO of WOTSO says “we’re proud to be partnering with BubbaDesk to launch its second site right here at WOTSO Dickson. It’s a great example of the shared space economy in action, quite literally, we’re sharing space, with BubbaDesk parents using the WOTSO coworking area. There’s a real opportunity for more businesses to collaborate and co-locate in ways that drive value and community for everyone involved.”
The Dickson space, a corner space with lot of natural light, is expected to open during September. It’s the first facility of its kind in Canberra, a city which has a significant white collar workforce, which is consistent with the typical profile of parents already using BubbaDesk across its five locations.
Matilda Eder Regional Manager of WOTSO Dickson says “over the past few months word of Bubbadesk has spread online. I’ve had several WOTSO members in Canberra mention their services to me, without even knowing that they‘re about to make the move to ACT.”
BubbaDesk looks after children aged between four months and three years at a rate of $145 per day for childminding and flexspace.
