WOTSO launches fresh coworking concept in Sydney CBD |
 |
It’s been a great start for WOTSO’s first Coworking Café in Sydney’s CBD, which opened this week at Stockland’s Piccadilly Complex near bustling Pitt Street Mall.
CEO Jessie Glew says all flex offices in WOTSO Piccadilly are leased and that coworking space is filling up.
“It’s a cost-effective solution for CBD flex at a really competitive price point for such a well-located space – there’s so much happening in the area,” says Glew.
WOTSO worked closely with Stockland’s S Connect team, which manages popups and innovation across its retail portfolio and the Asset Manager, to bring the space to life.
“S Connect has been so good to work with,” says Glew. “They wanted to bring WOTSO to Piccadilly and have done everything they can to make it happen.”
Glew says the turnaround was rapid – a matter of weeks – and the timing perfect.
“We’ve been wanting to trial this retail café coworking concept that is really popular in European CBDs. We thought it would work here in Australia and the response indicates that it does.” |

MEMBER SPOTLIGHT
Mark Bond – rises to the challenge and shoots for the stars
When photographer and WOTSO Manly member Mark Bond moved to Australia in 2013 after a vibrant career in London media, it was a tough transition. Struggling to find the same opportunities, he pivoted to wedding photography, a surprisingly demanding path.
His first gig? A high energy Lebanese wedding with indoor fireworks. From there, Mark built a successful business, expanding into headshots, website photography and video content for brands.
After freelancing for a few years, he set up shop at WOTSO Manly in 2019 and has been part of the community ever since, now operating from the new North Head location.

Coworking and community more important than ever
The role of coworking in modern workplaces has never been more significant.
In a world where flexibility and remote work are common, the need for human connection is stronger than ever.
Open, high-profile coworking areas encourage interaction, energy and a sense of belonging from the moment someone walks in the door.
“At WOTSO we tend to put the coworking space in a high-profile area because it promotes interaction and energy for everyone,” says WOTSO CEO Jessie Glew.
Community is more than a nice-to-have, it’s central to the coworking experience. |
