If you want to know why coworking at WOTSO is a great environment to start and grow a dynamic, successful business, just ask Dalton Chung, founder and Managing Director of Aeon Marketing.
Six years ago, Dalton started Aeon from home but within three weeks decided he needed to get out of the house for stimulation and social interaction.
He took a coworking seat at WOTSO North Strathfield and has never looked back, always forward.
That positive attitude, combined with hard work, talent, vision and an acquisition, are among the reasons why Aeon Marketing has grown so quickly.
Winning numerous major tech and auto brands as clients, it is now a full-service agency with 23 employees, and there’s further growth on the horizon.
Employee #5 and General Manager, Debbie Taylor, explains that working from WOTSO has enabled Aeon to repeatedly scale into larger offices with ease because there are no lock-in contracts or traditional leases.
After five or six upgrades (who can keep count?) due to ever increasing headcount, the business has settled in a large office that can comfortably accommodate the team – for now.
“The way I consume my lease is just like my phone plan,” says Dalton. “I don’t have anything locked in. I’ve been a customer of WOTSO for six and a half years. No need to lock me in. If you provide a good value proposition it’s a no-brainer.”
Dalton would rather just focus on the business, which he started with a single project for Acer, one of Aeon’s biggest clients.
The roster also includes Norton, Crucial, Maserati, Subaru, Peugeot and many more, both large and small.
Aeon’s work covers all aspects of advertising and marketing across creative, production and media, says Debbie, and frequently acts as the marketing department for their clients.
“Creative covers anything from developing the brand to coming up with a TV or radio commercial,” she says.
“Production can be creating and managing an event, producing point of sale or merchandising material, while media covers paid advertising and marketing strategies with execution across social media, traditional media, TV, radio and outdoor.”
Dalton says the post-COVID era has been good for consultancies such as Aeon because businesses emerged leaner from the pandemic and have increasingly outsourced their marketing and advertising.
“Marketing is much more strategic than it ever used to be,” adds Debbie. “Before COVID there wasn’t much accountability. Now there is so much more data to play with.”
