It’s been a hectic couple of days at WOTSO‘s newest flexspace in Jamisontown, western Sydney, which opened on Monday.
The final touches, including the positioning of some beautiful plants, were being made to the space as the first members moved in.
Workspace Manager, Katrina Couchman, also had several site tours to contend with while ensuring the site’s first meeting room booking ran smoothly.
“It’s really exciting, we’ve got off to a great start,” says Katrina.
She is one of WOTSO’s original staff members, joining Australia’s leading flexspace business nine years ago when it took over a coworking space she managed in the Penrith CBD, 6km away.
That now operates as WOTSO Penrith, and is close to capacity, creating the opportunity for a second space in the area.
Katrina says each site has different attributes and that the Jamisontown fitout – featuring 13 repurposed shipping containers and forests of artfully recycled timber – makes it unique.
“They are quite different and work really well together – what one doesn’t have the other one does have, so they complement each other really well,” says Katrina.
“For example, WOTSO Penrith is right in the middle of the CBD and close to the train station.
“Jamisontown is further out but it’s all ground level, which people are liking, especially for the health suites, and there’s also plenty of free parking.”
WOTSO Jamisontown is twice the size of Penrith with a total capacity of 124 desks across private offices and coworking space.
Both sites offer a fully stocked kitchen, great relaxation areas, secure business grade internet, staffed reception, admin services and the opportunity to be part of a supportive working community.
It is an important addition to WOTSO’s vibrant western Sydney network, joining Penrith, Blacktown, Campbelltown, North Strathfield and Liverpool.
Many members use WOTSO’s Passport Program to work across different sites in the region.
WOTSO now has 31 flexspaces across Australia and New Zealand with a strategic location focus on key suburban and regional hubs.
Two more sites are scheduled to open in the coming months.
