WOTSO is set to open its second Adelaide location in suburban Modbury, where its pending arrival at the Tea Tree Plus shopping centre has created a flurry of interest in an area starved of coworking options.
Regional Manager Millie Rowe says there has been “really good engagement” with WOTSO bringing something new to Adelaide’s northeastern commuter belt.
She noted that nearby business parks operate on traditional leasing models, and in those environments WOTSO typically performs strongly due to its flexible, no lock-in agreements.
“It’s really exciting – demand has exceeded our expectations with most interest coming from Modbury or nearby suburbs,” Rowe says.
“A lot of people who commute to the city live in the north and northeast, and by opening in Modbury we are doing what we do best, cutting their commute into the city by being closer to where they live.”
She says there’s strong interest from small businesses and freelancers.
Employees of larger businesses with flexible work policies that allow them to work from coworking locations are also taking space, sometimes as a team.
This is a trend WOTSO is seeing in other locations, demonstrating that many businesses are willing to compromise staff proximity for employee wellbeing and productivity.
Modbury is the northeast region’s primary shopping and transport hub, making it an ideal location for coworking space.
WOTSO Tea Tree Plus is in a high-profile position fronting busy North East Road, one of Adelaide’s main traffic arteries.
There’s free parking directly outside WOTSO, and also underground, an important consideration for many clients in suburban areas.
The space is large with lots of natural light. When finished, it will feature a central coworking area plus 30 offices ranging in size from two to 30 desks, plus meeting rooms, corporate services, a stocked kitchen and relaxation area.
Rowe says works are progressing well and expects WOTSO Tea Tree Plus to be open by the end of March.
And through WOTSO’s Passport Program members will be able to access any other WOTSO, including its original Adelaide location at Flinders Street in the city’s CBD.
There are now 39 WOTSO coworking locations across Australia and New Zealand.
