In a snapshot, tell us about Ali Films Australia and how it came to be?
There is a famous saying of Sonia Ricotti “You manifest what you believe, not what you want.” I always believe in myself and worked so hard to turn my dream into reality. I came to Australia in a very young age to pursue my studies in filmmaking while studying I registered my business in 2017. while I was studying in JMC Academy, I was nominated as best cinematographer of the year 2016 in Martini Awards and won the best short film award as well in Martini Awards. After my graduation in FIlm and television production from JMC Academy. I started creating content for different brands and mostly I was doing product videography, corporate and event photography, and weddings. Ali films also becomes an official photographer of Sydney Cricket League. I wasn’t alone in all this process as my wife has played an important role in all this now, we both runs this business together where my wife Uzma handle our social media and meanwhile, I am handling production. Now I have a full team who captures weddings, commercial events and postproduction.
How did you get into photography, what turned this into a business?
I always liked taking pictures of my family or if i am on travel, taking pictures of landscape and nature. I think somehow i knew that I wanted to pursue my further studies in this profession where i can explore new techniques and buying professional camera gadgets always fascinates me. I have started my career in photography in 2011 while I was studying digital media in Pakistan. Then I moved to Australia and started my bachelor’s degree in film and television from JMC Academy. While I already had a few years of experience from Pakistan I started working as a freelance photographer and assistant director. Then in 2017 I officially registered my own business ALI FILMS and build a team. From 2017 till 2022 I have done alot of work which includes working for BBC hindi, sydney cricket league, corporate events, weddings and promotions videos.
