In a snapshot, tell us about WB Media.
WB Media is a marketing agency that specialises in the hospitality industry. At WB Media, we harness the latest digital marketing strategies to increase brand awareness and reach new audiences and customers for our clients through Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and Google.
We specialise in food and hospitality clients, and love to work with passionate business owners ready to put their brand in front of the eyes of new audiences and potential customers online through innovative content creation and marketing strategies.
WB Media centres around a love of food, a passion for creativity, and the heart and soul of true hospitality.
Growing up with family-owned Italian restaurants must have taught you a ton. What are some lessons from those days that you find super valuable in your marketing work now?
Growing up with my family owning and operating Italian restaurants shaped my passion for food and business. I have many fond memories as a child of going to the restaurant and my Dad letting me taste test the latest pizza and pasta blackboard specials. It was only natural that I became a massive foodie. Seeing my Dad own restaurants my whole life also inspired me to own a business of my own. I understand the determination, grit, and hard work needed to run a successful business, as I have observed this from my Dad.
With your academic background in journalism, what unique content creation techniques do you use to enhance the narratives of food and hospitality brands?
Coming from a background in journalism, I understand the craft of digital storytelling. At WB Media, we use various social media platforms to create and post engaging content that tells a story for our clients. In this day and age, social media platforms are very saturated, so you need to be creative and think outside the box to stand out online, as content is king. Incorporating an element of storytelling can be very effective.
Running your own show at WB Media must be quite the adventure. What’s been the biggest “aha!” moment for you as a business owner?
Running a business is quite the adventure to say the least, there is never a dull moment at WB Media. The biggest ‘aha’ moment for me as a business owner has been learning the importance of building and nurturing relationships, whether this be with your staff or clients. I strongly believe relationship-building to be an integral part of operating a service-based business.
You’re working out of WOTSO North Strathfield! How has that environment influenced or boosted WB Media’s operations? What perks does it offer that really make a difference for your team?
I love working at WOTSO! I personally don’t enjoy working from home and since moving into WOTSO I have loved being able to network and meet other likeminded business owners. We have also met a few of our valued clients through the space and working from the same location has made things super easy for us. I also love the flexibility of the space and having so many different areas and breakout zones to work from. WOTSO has played an integral role in my business from networking opportunities to optional work environments that have enabled and nourished my creativity.
