WOTSO is launching demand pricing for meeting rooms across its network of 35 sites in Australia and New Zealand.
CEO Jessie Glew says the strategy is to increase meeting room use during traditionally quieter periods, and may provide an opportunity to maximise revenue when there’s high demand.
“It means our spaces become even more flexible and accessible, not just for new visitors but for our existing members too,” says Glew.
“On quieter days, prices drop, giving members the chance to plan ahead and make the most of our spaces when it’s more affordable.
“It’s a smarter, fairer way to use our spaces, rewarding those who plan ahead, maximising utilisation, and making sure every room and every day counts.”
Glew says WOTSO will trial the approach with its meeting rooms and if successful the strategy could be expanded to encompass coworking desks and private office day passes.
“I think it opens our meeting room product to a broader market, and allows our members to plan out their week so they can take advantage of cheaper prices on certain days.”
Across the WOTSO network, meeting rooms are typically in highest demand on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 11am and 2pm.
Mondays and Fridays are quietest, though there are some notable exceptions.
“Some sites don’t adhere to the norm and in a few cases, Fridays are crazy busy in terms of utilisation,” Glew says.
Every WOTSO has at least one meeting room – larger sites have up to seven – and prices range from $40 to $160 per hour depending on location, size and demand.
Some sites also feature amphitheatres for town hall style meetings, while others have fantastic event spaces.
All meeting rooms feature AV facilities, refreshments, comfortable seating, and tables that can seat up to 30 .
