Reflecting on your time since the start at our Varsity Lakes site, what has been the standout experience for you at WOTSO and why?
For me it’s definitely been the amazing friendship groups that have been created due to many businesses working together in one space. I have an amazing group of friends that regularly check in on each of us and get together….originally called “Daddy Day Care”…..the kids are older now that name has dropped away 😊
Having been with WOTSO at Varsity Lakes from its inception, how have you witnessed changes both at this location and within WOTSO overall? Which changes have had the most profound impact on you?
When I first was here the area was very much just desks and was a little sterile. However, the key changes would be the high table/Friday drinks/social activities/fun events that you run, which means businesses can connect better, which creates partnerships in business and friendships, now being a great environment.
Could you recount a particular connection you made at WOTSO Varsity Lakes that has had a significant effect on your personal or professional life?
There have been a few, particularly the friendship group I mentioned before. I suppose personally & business-wise, it was the connection with Lee who suggested I talk with Ryan as we were looking for a new person. Ryan eventually got the job and now works for PGGW. Also, a special mention to Kevin/Ryan and myself, as we almost started a business from WOTSO together, having taken advice from AvisFunk lawyers and also from Wayno at OYO on building our website/marketing. If it wasn’t for a conflict of interest in my current job, WOTSO would have born a new business using the many person’s knowledge within the office.
Reflecting on our journey together, how has WOTSO empowered your business? Looking ahead, what are the ways in which WOTSO can continue to enhance and support your growth?
WOTSO has mostly created a great working environment for me to do my best in my job. Because I work for a big corporation, the business connections are less important; however, there are some environmental specialists in the building that we have connected with, so you never know where the connections will take you. Exciting times ahead 😊
